Mark Olson, Pastor

Mark has served as the pastor at MVC since 2007. He grew up in Bloomington and has many fond memories of time spent in the Minnesota River Valley area. As a young adult he spent summers in places like Scotland and Ireland (traveling via bicycle and ministering as opportunities arose).   He began congregational ministry as a youth worker and has never stopped having a heart for ministering to teens and children.

During his time as a pastor, Mark has served churches in Illinois, South Dakota, North Dakota, and now Minnesota.   Mark’s training for life and ministry included completing three ministry related master degrees through Christian institutions and a doctorate at the University of South Dakota; yet it continues through the daily learning experiences that God provides.

Mark is extremely thankful to God for his wife, Dawn, and their four children; Ben, Katie, Scott, and Emily. When God created families he had a great plan!   He finds joy in the daily adventure of seeing God reveal himself through the Word, circumstances, and in the lives of those he encounters. Refreshment for him comes in various forms including: raquetball, biking, rollerblading, running, hiking, canoeing, and the like are all great.
