Christa has been serving as secretary for MVC since August of 2010. She grew up in Missoula, MT with her parents and three siblings, but left her heart in the Midwest after attending Concordia College in Moorhead, MN for four years. She has a bachelor’s degree in English Writing and hopes to be a successful novelist someday.

From an early age, Christa has been involved in the church with youth ministry and childcare. During high school she frequently led worship and volunteered as a Sunday school teacher for 4-5 year olds. Most recently, she was a small group mentor for 7^th grade girls at a church in Fargo, ND while finishing her senior year of college. One of her most memorable ministry opportunities involved weekly visits to youth in the Moorhead Juvenile Detention Center with an Outreach team through Concordia. The youth were ministered to through games, sports and crafts. At the end of each session the children were offered the opportunity to pray with Outreach members, an offer which many accepted.

Christa finds joy in all things creative. One of her greatest passions is designing with a purpose: recycling found objects and making them into functional and beautiful piece of art for the home. She enjoys photography, painting, throwing and hand-building pottery, sewing, and latte art. She has been a barista for three years, an experience that has taught her to appreciate the gift and art of food.

In many ways Christa is just beginning her journey and is looking forward to see how God will use all of her gifts, passions and talents. He has never let her go and continues to bless her immensely. Each day is an opportunity to learn something new.
