After nearly 3 months without indoor activities due to Coronavirus lockdown, MVC will slowly and carefully begin reopening this week. A Bible study is planned in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday evening (it will also be on Zoom for those who would like to attend virtually). On Sunday morning, June 7, our ‘drive-in’ service will move to 9 AM, followed by a worship service in the sanctuary at 10:30.
The church council has been hard at work, carefully considering each element of the schedule and service to ensure that we are in compliance with current guidelines around large group gatherings, but more importantly, that all reasonable precautions are in place to protect our dear members and guests.
Some changes include increased cleaning and disinfecting protocols, a revised chair layout to encourage appropriate social distancing, a ‘no contact’ offering plate, and some adjustments to the worship service to help prevent any spread of coronavirus.
We will continue to offer a recorded service on YouTube, which is posted every week in this blog and on the home page of this website. If you are sick, or if you are especially vulnerable to infection, please refrain from attending the indoor service.
We realize that this is a difficult time, and that there are a wide range of opinions regarding reopening at this time. In fact, this wide range is represented on the council as well. However, through much discussion, study, and prayer, we’ve determined that this gradual approach is the best way to return to ‘normal’ worship while respecting and protecting the health and safety of everyone involved.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
